My Critique

A resume and flier have to stand out and be different from others to catch the reader's eye. For The flier, the creator chose to change the font a lot. The size of the font changes from the body to the headlines and subheadlines. It’s a good idea to do that because when you have your flier on a bulletin board in a busy hall you want it to catch as much eyes as possible. So you should have maybe add color in the flier, have unique fonts in your paragraphs anything for it to standout.
The big “S” is loud and the title reads “Siren Call” so its a play on words. The creator did that on purpose and wanted to stress the Loudness in the flier. It also took out white space.

The piece give you an Elegant clean look. The font was more of an old time font . You might see that font in an old book. It gave a classy look. You could tell that flier had nothing to do with sports or guys in general. it had a preferred audience.
The Picture gave the flier its on sexy look. The picture goes along with the font. The picture makes you want to read the paragraph because you want to know why and who is that girl in the picture and what does she have to do with anything.

The resume was very unique and you could tell what kind of job the person was going for without reading too much into her resume. You could tell that her resume layout was more on an entertainment. Her resume looked like a broadway play flier. She used her name as a design layout as well. When she split the resume in half with her “I” in her name. That made the resume look longer then what it was. It made the words pop off the page.
Another great layout idea the person did was  putting the words like a pattern. It made the reader focus their eyes on certain parts. Her skills were put in a certain way of how the number of letters were even used. Lastly she put her skills first. Meaning she believes that's of the most important things about her.She wanted that to stand out and have the reader be amazed.
There have been similar layouts in resume designs , it’s good to not just go with the basic format. You want your resume to link with your job your going for. So if you were handing in a resume for a movie it’s a good thing to throw in some movie encorporated items in your resume. Catch the persons eye and make it seem like you are different from everyone else trying to get the job. You want him to remember your resume after he prob gets 100 a day.
I believe both the flier and the resume had their own touch to them and showed their personalities without saying it. The resume could of added a picture to it for one final touch just so it wasn’t all black and white.

I have to see!

I always knew which learning style was easier for me. Taking test where I would have to just listen and take notes I struggled In. I wouldn’t remember.
When learning I like to see what I’m learning. If there is something I can relate the topic too I would remember it more likely. if the class is learning Spanish and we have to remember words if you put the visual of the word I will find a way to put those things together. My brain will automatically think of that visual image when the word pops up.
I prefer visual learning because I’m more focused. If I’m in a class where its long and dreading I don’t always just want to be writing. My mind is going to get off topic. With the visual there is more of an entertainment involved.
How easy is it to just get off topic when learning and think about something else? The teacher could be talking about fractions, but your mind is thinking about the party this weekend. I find myself wide awake and entertained.
Have you ever been in a class where a teacher has to always repeat what she’s saying? Maybe it’s the students fault for not paying attention, maybe it’s the other way around and the teacher is talking to fast.
Our brain is mainly an image processor. The part of your brain that remembers words is smaller than the part that remembers pictures.
When presenting information, it should be organized neatly into a presentation. You can’t use bland colors you have the PowerPoint to stand out.

You have to throw in a video, its only right. I know this was important and useful because every time I would have a job training they would have you in front of a computer watching videos. I learned more than I would by reading some boring packets or being taught by writing.
The company Apple has strong visual communication. Starting from their logo the bitten Apple. Some people might not think too much into it, but it actually signifies knowledge. This logo is so easy to respond to because of how much we see it and it’s just an apple. But the meaning going all the way back to the Bible to Adam & Eve.
Another company is Beats. The logo for beats is simple. The letter “b” is enclosed in a circle with their brand name. But it’s not just a circle it’s a human head and the b is the headphones. This gives the brand a more personal element.
The last company that has strong visual communication is LG. Most people notice the letters L and G in the logo, but not everyone realizes those letters make a face. It is important for a company to make the product approachable and have a human element.
Teachers should ask the audience which learning style they prefer more because everybody is different. But in my experience is always safe to go with visual.
